Opal is one of those dogs that come around once in a while, that have that ‘it’ factor. She grabbed everyone’s attention right out of the puppy pen, and hasn’t stopped since. She physically and verbally demands attention, and gets whatever she wants. Ha! Spoiled a wee bit, and when she stamps her little feet, gets whatever she’s yelling for.

In her puppy show career, Opal amassed 4 Best Puppy in Shows, and 28 Best Puppy in Group wins, along with Group wins and placements. She loves the show ring, and the attention, and is so much fun to show!

We have been staying home since the beginning of the pandemic, but entered the National Specialty in August of 2022, where she made me incredibly proud by winning Best Of Opposite Sex!

Future plans for Opal? Maybe if we ever get back to showing in the States I will try to get an AKC Ch on her. Otherwise, we will just go to the occasional show here and there for fun.

Opal made me extremely proud of her when she won Best of Opposite Sex at the Canadian National Specialty in August 2022, in an entry of 64 Whippets! She hadn’t been shown at all during the pandemic, so I wasn’t sure how she would do as an adult, and she killed it!
